Where Do You Enjoy Your Cigars
Just like every other smoker in the U.S., it is becoming harder and harder to find a place to enjoy a fine cigar. The anti-smokers do everything in their power to not only kick you out of indoor public places but they have started an attack on us in our own private areas. At work in many states, you must be 25 feet from any door and when it rain you are stuck enjoying a smoke in the smoking shelter. That is if you are lucky and the company you work for did not adopt a policy to make it as hard as they can on you. Heck, the new Hollywood casinos in Ohio give all employees nicotine test and they will not employ you if you use any kind of tobacco; this includes the occasional premium cigar!
That brings me to the question, where do you get to enjoy your premium cigars? Some get to enjoy them only while driving, others have a wife that allows them to relax in the house. Some people have a man cave, some are stuck out on the back deck and the real lucky ones have a local cigar lounge to hang out at.
My personal situation is on the side of it is very hard for me to able to enjoy a cigar at all these days. To do so I almost have to plan it out. Traveling for a living is okay, it has its pros and cons. I can no longer smoke in my work van that I’m stuck in for 6-8 hours some days. Finding a tobacco friendly hotel anywhere is just about impossible and there is no smoking at all in my house, but that is a rule that my wife and I agree on.
So my options are limited. I can stop on the road and kick back at a rest stop if I’m not in a hurry. I do, do this on occasion if I have all day to travel. It is actually nice if you find a rest area with a walking path. I get to enjoy a stogie on our back deck which is nice. It overlooks the pool and our yard backs up against woods. So I can hang out and watch the boys swim or watch for deer to pop their heads out on the wood line. My one other go to place to enjoy a good smoke is while at a certain casino. I always like to get there a day early and have a relaxing smoke on the banks of Patoka Lake. I of course also have my pole wet as well
Well, that is about the only choices I have these days for the most part. I do sneak in a cigar when I have time but those are my go to places.
