We’re up!

Well this is it, today is the day that Cigar Beat takes a step up to the next level. I would like to welcome you to the new and approved Cigar Beat. Not only will you find this new blog section you will find the furom to be about a 1000% better than what it was. A better layout, chat room and better organized is only a couple things you will find new with the forum.

Cigar Beat was brought to life in April 2006 at the address www.srcigars.com. Since the net does not need anymore cigar forums why did I make cigarbeat? Well, when I started to get into cigars I searched and read up on a lot of sites looking for information. I seen cigar forums and thought they would be a good source of information and the fellowship with other BOTLs would be great since I really didn’t know anyone else that smoked cigars. So I joined one forum that I will not mention and found myself outed very quickly because I knew very little about cigars at that time. I mean really, so I ask a dumb question or two and now I’m a dumb asshole? Even though I’m a member of many forums and communities online this really put a bad taste in my mouth. I chaulk it up to just running into a couple jerks. I’m not here to bitch about this, fact is the net is home to some good cigar forums and some crappy ones. What I wanted was a forum that was laid back for people that smoke cigars. A place new smokers could come and feel welcome. Not a “I know more than you so your a turd.” So I decided to make one along with a cigar 101 site so the new BOTLs had a place to read up on things. You must know that when I start something it is hard for me to stop until I get it done, this drives my wife crazy. While researching information to put on the site it brought me in contact with Matt at www.littlehavanacigars.com that donated server space and a domain name. Now that is a true BOTL! When I asked him why he would want to do this he told me for one I have the server space, two I have a ton of domane names, three anything that supports the cigar hobby is a good thing. Well I accepted his offer on the grounds that I put a couple links to his site and for him to let me know when he gets new stuff in so I could pass the word on to members. That is how Cigar Beat got started.

Well today is a new day. We have branched out to the point to be able to take that next step and have our own server. The story line will never stop with cigar Beat, it will always be in the precess making one hell of a story.
