Anyone can now rate the cigar or product on that post. You can also thumb up/down comments. Search through the review index page and rate some cigars to try it out. I'm also still looking for anyone that would like to review cigars on the site. I want to try to get back doing them but want to give others a chance to share their thoughts. Soon we will have member blogs for all.

Smoke Notes: Olor Del Cibao Churchill Cuban Seed

Here is another cigar from the Olor Del Cibao line from texcigars.com. You might remember my review of the Double Shade Presidente I did a couple weeks ago. This is a line of cigars that has just recently been released to the U.S. market.

Here is what Tex has to say about this cigar:
The Olor Del Cibao Churchills Cigars are 100% hand made, Long-Filler, “Cuban Seed” Wrapper Cigars straight from the Dominican Republic. These cigars are exactly what you’re looking for in a Churchill cigar and for the price it cannot be beat. Again, the wrapper is “cuban seed” and if you’re used to smoking cuban cigars or if you’re looking for a cigar that is as close to cuban as we can get the US legally than this is the flavor you’re looking for. The cigars come in a cedar box that is hand-made and of great quality. The first thing you will notice when you get these in is how tightly the box fits together and locks up. This is sure to preserve your cigars well. Beautiful box, beautiful cigars, and fantastic taste! Give these a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Pre-light: This cigar has a nice wrapper that is a little bumpy and has one medium sized vein running through it. The cap is a nice size, I did not notice any soft spots. No issue with the cut. The predraw was easy and has a grass taste to it.

The Burn: Not as good as the Double Shade Presidente but not bad. I would rate the burn a 7.5 because when it did go off it always corrected itself . The ash lasted about an inch, like the other not the longest ash. It also flaked at points but for the most part stayed in tact. The draw was effortless throughout with tons of smoke to fill the room.

The Taste: This smoke holds some nice flavors, some I can not pick out. It started with creamy and mellow and turned nutty towards the middle. The last third had leather and a little spice. Never got hot or harsh on me at all.

Over All: A good mild smoke, for $3.40 a stick it is a very good smoke. A mellow smoke that you can smoke any time of the day. If you don’t want to pull the trigger on a box of these Tex has a great deal on a Olor Del Cibao sampler. One of each style for $9.99.

I bought a box of these. The cigar was a touch harsh. The reason being that it was probably cold from transit or moist. A few days of humidor and letting the cicars rest fixed this. Not a bad smoke.
