Smoke Notes: Bock Y CA Robusto

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

These came from JR Cigars and was my bargain cigar purchase for this month in my pursuit to find quality smokes for the cheap bastids in the world like me. Bock Y CA is made by Altadis and they come in either a box of 20 or a bundle of 25 for the same price of $27.95. I ordered the box because I read that they come in a “humidor-quality” box that I wanted to check out. Much to my surprise the box turned out to be exactly that, a very well made very tight fit humidor (minus the humidification device). So you think I’m a sucker now don’t ya, it’s okay at this point I thought I was too. I thought the cigars might just be that bad that they needed a nice presentation. I thought I would be stashing these at the bottom of the coolidor never to be seen again. Surprised again, these are not bad smokes. With a Sumatra Clara wrapper, Habano Claro binder and a Nicaraguan Habano filler this is a mild smoke that has a nice overall flavor. To mild for my everyday but great to hand out and they make a good morning smoke. You will get some rough spots on the wrapper but nothing that that gets in the way on a good burn. So for $1.40 a stick with box and $1.12 a stick in the bundle this is a safe buy if you like mild smokes. I will order more in the future.

Bargain cigar reviews.

This is right decent bargain smoke, one of the best buys out there in the mild range. And a quality box as well? Not bad at all.

The box is nice. Not enough room to hold a humidification device but I put in a small pillow once I smoked through about five of them to make room. It holds a lot better than that Thompson humi I dumped. You can’t ask much more for a little over a buck if you like mild smokes.
