Pirates PNC Park to close Montecristo Club

The Pirates’ and Altadis opened the doors to the Montecristo Club at PNC Park in April 2006. This is a high end-cigar bar serving Altadis brand cigars along with top shelf spirits and even humidor lockers for customers all overlooking PNC Park.

The Allegheny County Council passed a smoking ban that forces PNC to close the doors to the club for good. The general seating has always been non smoking but PNC Park as always had designated smoking areas.

“It was really a first class venue and we of course are saddened by the ban and the forthcoming closing,” said Janelle Rosenfeld, vice president of advertising for Altadis U.S.A. to Cigar Aficionado.

This is just another win for the anti smoking “feel goods” that is just looking out for us. More information can be found on the Cigar Aficionado site.
