This is part two in my Arganese review. This time around I will smoke the Double Wrap. But before I get started I would like to remind everyone what today is. Today is the seventh anniversary of one of the biggest attacks on U.S. ground. September 11th 2001 should never be forgotten and we need to remember the dangers in the world. I have prayed for families that have lost their loved ones in the attacks and for those who have fallen in war in results of these attacks. No matter what side of the political fight you are on this day is to remember, pray and solute. It seems in today’s world the American flag has lost something but it still flies above watching over us. Today I put my hand over my heart and say to that flag that I love her, I love everything about her and I will always solute her. Never forget.
Information from the site:
A medium to full-bodied smoke. A Connecticut and Maduro wrapper combination make this special cigar resemble a barber pole. A smooth, velvety smoke.
Country: Dominican Republic
Size: 5×50
Shape: Robusto
Wrapper: CT Shade, Maduro
Filler: Dominican
Binder: Indonesian
Strength: medium to full
Price: $165 (25) Buy Now

Pre-light: The Arganese Double Wrap is a beautiful cigar. Well done construction makes it look flawless and so tempting. It has a rich smell and has no soft spots to be found. A couple med size veins can be found on the maduro parts of this cigar blending in well. After cut I found a firm draw and a mellow tobacco flavor with just a little spice.
The burn: The burn was not as good as the maduro that I smoked the other day but it held its own. The Connecticut wrapper burned a little faster than the maduro but this cigar never needed any touch-ups. It would always catch up with the twist. The ash held on for almost two inches, even in my bumpy truck. This cigar never went out on me even while I got gas and a coke. The draw is a little firm all the way down but gives you a nice amount of smoke.
The taste: When you first fire the Double Wrap up the Connecticut shade wrapper flavor really comes through with the body being mild. After the half way mark you start to pick up more of the maduro flavors and it has a nice balance. The further down you smoke it the fuller it gets.
Over all: A nice looking and tasting cigar. Even though I enjoyed the maduro a little more I would smoke more of these. These are harder to find online but CigarMonkey sells the Chairman at $39.95 for a 5-pack or $165 for a box of 25. At $6.60 each box price I think it is a good smoke at the 5-pack price of $8 each I would personally pass. So if you are looking for a nice looking cigar to show off but is a nice smoke then this cigar might be what you are looking for.

I told my wife I would post this. We will be doing our yearly walk for Breast Cancer research. Both her grandmother and mother are survivors.
Breast cancer awareness is very important to me and my family, 28 years ago my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer and today she’s a proud survivor! Then last October we received the news that my mom had breast cancer and 1 year later she’s also a proud survivor! Right now, there is more hope than ever for people touched by breast cancer. However, there is still much work to be done to promote early detection and to help those impacted by the disease. To help make a difference, I’m participating in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.
The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk supporting the American Cancer Society’s unique mission to fight breast cancer on four fronts: research, education, advocacy, and service programs. The Greater Cincinnati Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is on Sunday Oct 12, 2008 at Yeatman’s Cove. Registration begins at 8:00 am and the 5 mile walk begins at 9:00 am.
I have started a team in my grandmother’s nickname, Yogi’s Striders. I hope you will join me in my effort by signing up to join my team, or making a donation in support of my participation. Hope starts here… with us!
Sincerely,
Emily
Team Leader

In the next couple weeks I will be reviewing cigars out of a Arganese sampler that was sent to me for review. This is part one of six.
Information from Arganese:
A medium-bodied cigar made of the finest, hand picked tobaccos, carefully aged for 7 years. Dominican Republic and Cuban seed Dominican grown tobaccos are exquisitely blended to give you a perfect smoke every time. Hints of chocolate and sweetened coffee flavors highlight the experience.
Country: Dominican Republic
Size: 5×50
Shape: Robusto
Wrapper: Maduro, Brazilian Matafina
Filler: Dominican
Binder: Indonesian
Strength: Medium
Price: $99 Buy Now (20 Figurado)

Pre-light: The Arganese maduro has a rugged look to it. I found that the foot had a spongy give to it and the rest of the cigar was solid. A couple mid sized veins is all that sticks out on the wrapper and this cigar looks like it should be a meaty smoke. Has a slight musty smell, firm draw and just a little spice.
The burn: The burn line was razor sharp all the way down. The draw was good throughout with some firmness. You get a good amount of smoke. The light grey ash could have lasted longer only giving me about an inch. Black lines gave the light ash some character with some black lines from the veins.
The taste: I picked up some Jalapeno spice in the beginning. Others include some leather, sweet maduro and maybe some coffee. I noticed that I got a thick film covering in my mouth. I could taste this cigar for a couple hours after smoking it.
Over all: I would call this cigar closer to full than medium. At under $5 each box price this is a good smoke. If your looking for good maduro at a affordable price you might want to give this one a try. You can pick a box of the Figurado for $99 or a 5-pack for $31.75 at CigarMonkey, inc.
