Fried venison Steaks

Well bow season has already started here in Indiana but it has way to hot to do any hunting. Finally the temperature dropped down to the 60’s just in time for my short work week. I will be going out Thursday and Friday searching for a ten pointer I have seen around here. This gets me digging through my deep freezer hoping we still have some meat from last year and was happy to find I had some tucked away. So here is a quick recipe for fried venison steaks I will be making tomorrow night for dinner.

Fried Venison Steaks

  • Tenderloin or hindquarter venison steaks
  • Flour
  • McCormick dried Italian salad-dressing mix

Slice either tenderloin or hindquarter venison steaks really thin, and then pound them with a wooden mallet to tenderize them. Roll the steaks in a mixture of flour and McCormick dried Italian salad-dressing mix. Drop the steaks in hot grease, and fry them just enough to cook them but not make them crispy.
