Anyone can now rate the cigar or product on that post. You can also thumb up/down comments. Search through the review index page and rate some cigars to try it out. I'm also still looking for anyone that would like to review cigars on the site. I want to try to get back doing them but want to give others a chance to share their thoughts. Soon we will have member blogs for all.

Fix a Split or Cracked Cigar

Hoot brought up this method of saving your cigar. A product called liquid pectin, brands include Sure Jell and Certo that can be picked up at your local grocery store. This is used in making jelly and is like a natural glue with no taste. Try this next time you have a cigar with a split in it or it is starting to unravel.

  1. Get the cigar, the liquid pectin and a toothpick.
  2. Smear a little on the offending wrapper. Make sure not to over do it, Hoot says be careful though as a little goes a long way. You just want to stick the wrapper down, not make a jelly roll.
  3. Let it sit for a couple of days and your ready to go.

It might not turn out pretty but at least it won’t be trash! I would try this on an everyday cigar before you throw it on a $15 Padron! Thanks for the tip Hoot!
