Cigar Review: White Owl Sports Vanilla

What a beautiful day! Just relaxing here trying to figure out what to smoke. After digging deep into my humidor I picked one of my favorite sticks, the White Owl Sports Vanilla.

White Owl is a classic cigar that’s rich in history, dating back to 1887. White Owl cigars are machine made in Dothan, Alabama, U.S.A. with a sheet-type wrapper and binder that encases a mixed filler tobacco blend from five nations which give an extra mildness and fine taste.

The white owl in the Logo is a Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus).

Some cigars available include White Owl Blunts, White Owl Demi Tips, White Owl Invincible, White Owl Miniatures, White Owl Miniatures, White Owl New Yorker, and White Owl Ranger.

Country: USA
Length/Ring: 4 3/4 x 41
Shape: Petite Corona
Wrapper: Natural
Strength: Mild
Price: $20 (60) That’s .33 per stick!

Pre-light: This is a beautiful cigar that you will not need to cut. It smells of distinct vanilla and the pre-draw shows the same. Perfect draw.

The burn: The burn is perfect all the way down with no issues at all. I might suggest smoking it a little slow because they tend to burn a little fast.

The taste: Sweet vanilla, can you ask more than that?

Over all: Nothing turns more heads when you walk into your local cigar bar that this cigar. People tend to snub their nose at you but I have found it is jealousy. Even though you pay closer to $1 at your closest gas station I feel that is still a good price on these. I say buy!

OK time for the fine print here. What day is it?

    Wow!

I have been meaning to give these a try. Thanks to your review, I am now planing an drive to the local CVS to pick up a box or two. Do you recommend aging these for a few hours in the humidor, or going ahead and smoking them right away?

I find a cigar of this caliber really calls for quality accessories. The kind you read about in Cigar Aficionado. I like to take my White Owl out on the time wearing a rolex, monocle and big gold chain with a diamond-encrusted dollar sign.
